DR. DEAN MORBECK
Dr. Morbeck is the Scientific Director at Fertility Associates New Zealand and Sunfert International Fertility Centre, and is an Honorary Associate Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Monash University as well as an Honorary Lecturer at the University of Auckland. He oversees science in IVF clinics throughout New Zealand and Malaysia that annually perform >4500 fresh cycles. Prior to moving to NZ, Dean was an Associate Professor at the Mayo Clinic, and prior to that he was in private practice in the US for over 10 years. He obtained his PhD from North Carolina State University and his MBA from Augsburg College. His research has focussed on quality in the laboratory – from culture media, protein and oil, to how embryologists grade and decide to use blastocysts.
VENESSA SMITH
Venessa Smith is a HCPC registered clinical scientist with more than 20 years’ experience working in fertility. She has worked as an embryologist at a number of different UK clinics followed by the London Women’s Clinic in Harley Street as Embryology Laboratory and Sperm Bank Manager where she developed a specific interest in gamete donation. She later became the group's Quality Manager and is experienced in clinical governance, helping clinics develop Total Quality Management programmes, performing audits, and passionate about supporting staff.
Venessa is a regular speaker for the Donor Conception Network Planning for Parenthood Workshops and has contributed to a number of books and journals. She currently sits on the HFEA Licensed Centre’s Panel and was part of the HFEA Working Group for the most recent edition of the HFEA Code of Practice. She has recently joined the Assisted Conception Unit at Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust.
DR. MARLANE ANGLE
On September 8, 2020, Marlane Angle, PhD joined the UW Ob-Gyn Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility as the Generations Fertility Care lab director. Angle earned her PhD in Reproductive Physiology from Auburn University. After training in the University of California San Francisco IVF laboratory, she became an IVF laboratory director. She has directed a number of IVF laboratories around the United States and is licensed as a High Complexity Laboratory Director. She has published over seventy papers, abstracts and book chapters and has served as an editor on several journals.
DR. KESHAV MALHOTRA
Dr. Keshav Malhotra is the Lab Director of Rainbow IVF, Director of Malhotra Embryology Training Academy
and recently appointed Co Chair SIG embryology ASPIRE
He holds a masters degree in Clinical Embryology from Monash university Australia and is one of the few ESHRE certified Clinical Embryologists in INDIA. Dr. Malhotra is on the executive board of ISAR(Indian Society of Assisted Reproduction) and ISPAT(Indian Society for Prenatal Diagnosis and Therapy) and and has worked of Key projects pertaining to Embryology in the country like the Occupational Standard for Embryologists (Healthcare Sector Skill Council India- 2018) and the ISAR - Embryology Consensus 2019. Dr. Malhotra was recognised as Budding Embryologist of the Year by Economic Times INDIA -2019. Dr. Malhotra is passionate about training and actively conducts various online and Hands on Training courses at his flagship center in Agra, India, for standardising embryology services in the developing world.
GILES PALMER
Giles Palmer is a clinical embryologist, skilled in laboratory, business and quality management. After graduating in Genetics at Leeds University, UK he worked as a research officer at London's Hammersmith Hospital's acclaimed IVF unit working with Professors Lord Winston and Alan Handyside. In the following years he worked as laboratory manager and clinic director in IVF clinics in Greece while consulting in several countries including Iceland, Nigeria and the Balkan states. His research collaboration with St. Sophia's Children's Hospital (Athens University) resulted in the first births in Greece following embryo-biopsy and pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. He has published in leading scientific journals on a variety of topics including pre-implantation genetic testing for Cystic Fibrosis and B-thalassaemia, Morphokinectics and Quality Management. He is a certified HCPC clinical scientist in the UK and has been accredited with Senior Embryologist Status by ESHRE. More recently, Giles, has become a consultant for IVF clinics, Institute of Life, Athens and Nordica Fertility Centre in Lagos and product developer in a wide range of areas within the industry.
