Accidental Bio-Repositories: How Did We Get Here and Where Do We Go Now?

Tim Sharp is the Senior Vice President of Strategy & Innovation at TMRW Lifesciences where he leads transfer of technologies from the biobanking community to address some of the challenges facing IVF today.
Tim was the former Global Director of Biorepositories for ICON Plc, where he was responsible for the management of specimens from Europe, U.S., and Asia to central labs with 300 clinical trials and volumes in the 10s of thousands specimens a day for top pharmas.
Before ICON, Tim was responsible for Biorepository Operations and the Cryopreservation laboratory at the ATCC, overseeing 27 million specimens used for manufacturing to certified reference material for biologicals for the world governments and private industries. Prior to ATCC, Tim managed the U.S.’s NIH NCI Central Repository, holding 18 million specimens for clinical and research applications.
Tim’s experience spans over 20 years in biobanking, biorepository, and diagnostic laboratory operations. He holds memberships and serves on committees developing global standards in ISO, ISBER, AATB, and the Society of Cryobiology. Tim holds degrees in biochemistry and molecular biology with advance studies in polymer and electro chemistry.
