DR. KIMBALL POMEROY

Dr. Pomeroy is the scientific director for The World Egg Bank.
as well as an off-site laboratory director for two IVF laboratories. He has lectured at many scientific meetings and post-graduate courses and has coauthored papers dealing with risks of cross-contamination of microbes during storage of tissue in liquid nitrogen, the usefulness of embryo morphology in predicting pregnancy and the source of microbial contamination during embryo culture.

Kimball O. Pomeroy received a Ph.D. in Animal Physiology at Colorado State University, and then was a post-doc at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies. At the Salk Institute, Dr. Pomeroy worked with Dr. Glen Evans on the Human Genome Project (chromosome 11) and did work in the production of transgenic animals.

He was trained in Bristol, England as a human embryologist and worked as a consultant for several projects in Mexico, Nepal, China, Bolivia, and the Bahamas. He has served as a member of the SART Executive Board, Chair of the Reproductive Laboratory Technician’s Group, Chair of the College of Reproductive Biology, and a founding member of both the Regulatory Task Force and the Southwest Embryologist Summit.
Recently, he has focused his studies on what happens when cryotanks fail and is studying how oocytes regulate their pH.


DR. MATT TOMLINSON

Matt received his PhD in Sheffield in 1992 and then spent 4 years - helping to establish a district general fertility service. He continued to developed his interests in running region-wide services in Birmingham from ’97-2004 in a more academic setting. This has developed further since moving to his current post (Nottingham University Hospital), where interests in local and national education, sperm banking risk management and more latterly automation in diagnostics. He has worked on the MSc in ART in Nottingham for 15 years and served on committees for a number of professional bodies/societies Matt has organized and been speaker at both national and international meetings ( ABA, ACE, BFS, ESHRE) and has more than 60 papers as well as numerous meeting abstratcs. His current research interests are in improving diagnostics, effects of cancer and its treatment on male fertility and risk management of the cryobank.


DR. MITCH SCHIEWE


Dr. Schiewe attained his BS and MS degrees studying Animal Science/Reproductive Physiology at University at California - Davis and Louisiana State University in the early 1980’s, subsequently attained his PhD in Human Physiology. Upon completing an NSF post-doc at NIH studying Blastocyst Reconstruction modelling, he entered the world of Human IVF in 1992. He is a High Complexity Lab Director at Ovation Fertility in Newport Beach and the California Fertility Partners in Los Angeles. He has been developing and applying Assisted Reproductive Technologies for over 40 years. As a perennial ASRM Star Award recipient, he continues to strive to improve and simplify applied ARTs which optimize clinical outcomes and universal vitrification practices. In recent years, he has focused his attention to assessing best practices in cryoStorage quality management based on applied experiences.

COLLEEN MAREA QUINN 

Quinn practices personal injury, medical malpractice, employment, family formation (adoption & surrogacy) and estate planning law, is admitted to the practice in all state and federal courts in Virginia, and also has a background in commercial litigation and insurance coverage. She graduated from the University of Virginia (JD 1988) and William and Mary (BA 1985) and served as Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Harry L. Carrico, Chief Justice, Virginia Supreme Court 1988. She is a Fellow and 2016-17 President of the Academy of Adoption & Assisted Reproduction Attorneys (“AAAA”) having served on the AAAA Board from 2007-11 & 2013-18 and in numerous Officer, Chair and Conference Chair positions. She is the recipient of numerous awards and accolades for her work and results including "Best Lawyers” and "Best Law Firms in America" (U.S. News & World Report 2015-21), “Super Lawyers” Top 100 /Top 50 in Virginia, Top 50/Top 25 Female in Virginia, and Top 50Top 25 in Richmond, and Virginia’s “Legal Elite” (Virginia Business).
